Day 6 - Ferry to Victoria 10/7

Raining today.  We took the late morning ferry from Friday Harbor across the channel to Sidney, B.C.  (Tucker House was a fun place to stay - highly recommend! ) We arrived in Sidney a bit after noon, an uneventful stop at Customs, just in time for lunch at Tim Horton's. Sidney is quite a large town, about 30 miles north of Victoria.

We drove on toward Victoria, stopping at the Christ Church Cathedral, which is spectacular!  After much driving around and around, we finally found the Fairmont Empress (there's no internet here for us Verizon folks), overlooking the harbor. We let them take the car and checked into our very nice room. (This is the most expensive place we have EVER stayed (until Disney next year!)). We had visited Victoria once before, in 2006, when we lived in Bend.

We were unawares, but this weekend is Canada's "Thanksgiving" holiday!

We explored around the hotel's exclusive shops, saw where "High Tea" is served, and settle on a light dinner in the bar - Mussels and Prime Rib Stuffed Yorkshire Pudding - awesome!

Tomorrow's activities will depend on the weather.........
