Rainy and drizzly all day today, although they promise
tomorrow will be better! Breakfast at the hotel was excellent, but a little
slow. After breakfast we walked up Government Street past lots of interesting
retail shops and restaurants until we reached our destination – Murchie’s Tea
shop!
The Inner Harbor is a busy place, with ferries, sea planes,
harbor tour boats, etc. The Empress dominates. It was built in 1908ish by the
Canadian Pacific Railway. It became part of the Fairmont group about 30 years
ago.
Dinner tonight at the Old Spaghetti factory across the
street (with a table view overlooking the lawn bowling green!) , then back to the hotel to watch the Red Sox beat the Yankees, badly!
Tomorrow we’ll take the bus over to Butchart Gardens – hope
for better weather!
